    Description

    This vintage 1960s/70s handmade maraca from Jamaica was given to me when I was a child. It is in excellent condition and still works. It spins by holding the center sea heart (bean pod) and pulling the string with the little wooden stick - the string will then rewind so you can pull it again to continue to create sound from the maraca. The coconut shell has some carved design and is painted with bright colors. It also has the name Jamaica carved near the top. It measures about 9 1/2" long.
